The Syrian documentary “For Sama” by Waad al-Kateab is out now in cinemas. The journalist and activist captured her experiences during the Syrian civil war over five years alongside her husband Hamza, who worked as a doctor in one of the last local hospitals with her camera. During this time they also had their daughter Sama, for whom they do not want to give up the fight for their home. Very moving and harrowing insights into the everyday life of life in the war zone by a courageous woman. At Cannes, the film won the award for Best Documentary Film 2019.
